Our Story

Our Company

Founded by Roger, House of Berkeley was born from a passion for timeless design and architectural detail. With an artist’s eye and an architect’s understanding of space, Roger brings creativity and structure together to create kitchens that feel both elegant and enduring. Each project is guided by his belief that great design should enhance how you live while honouring the character of your home.

We are passionate about kitchens. From the craftsmanship of a perfectly framed door to the elegance of a worktop detail or the ingenuity of a hidden storage solution. Every element is considered, every proportion deliberate.

Our Team

With decades of combined experience, the House of Berkeley team shares a passion for craftsmanship and quality. Our sister company, Barnrose, ensures every project is expertly managed and delivered to the highest standard, from concept to completion. Kate, our CAD designer, brings ideas to life through detailed 2D drawings and 3D renders, giving clients a clear view of their kitchen before any work begins. Chris, our cabinet maker based in Stroud, carefully assembles each in-frame kitchen, ensuring every frame, door, and panel fits perfectly. By fully assembling components in his workshop before delivery, we save time on site while maintaining exceptional quality control. Finally, our installation team fits each kitchen on-site with the same attention and care that guides every step of the process. Together, the team combines their expertise to create kitchens that are both practical and enduring.

Our Founder

Roger Clark

With a passion for design and architecture, Roger has built a career focused on the perfect balance of aesthetics and functionality in every space. Extensive travel in his early twenties exposed him to a wide range of architectural styles and design philosophies, deepening his appreciation for craftsmanship, proportion, and timeless design.

After gaining experience in the London estate agency sector, Roger developed an in-depth understanding of the property market and what makes a home truly desirable. This foundation, combined with hands-on experience restoring and refurbishing clients and his own period properties in London and the Cotswolds, gave him a strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and finishes, while also honing his project management skills.

Throughout these projects, a recurring challenge became clear: designing kitchens that were both high-quality and suited to the constraints of listed buildings or awkward, confined spaces. Too often, available options were either too generic or far too expensive!

Recognising a gap in the market for bespoke yet practical kitchens, Roger launched The Cotswold Kitchen Company in 2018. His vision was to create thoughtfully crafted, elegant British-made kitchens that combined style, functionality, and accessible pricing.

Today, the business has evolved and rebranded as House of Berkeley. Roger warmly invites you to visit the showroom, a working kitchen within a listed property that demonstrates the craftsmanship, intelligent design, and practicality that define every project.

In partnership with Barnrose, House of Berkeley now offers a complete kitchen service, from initial design and building works to the finished kitchen. This ensures a seamless journey and a space perfectly tailored to the unique character of each home
