Cheltenham

Project Description

Roger and his team undertook the full restoration of his family’s Grade II listed Georgian townhouse in the heart of Cheltenham, returning four separate flats to its original single dwelling. At the centre of this transformation is a bespoke kitchen, designed to maximise space while honouring the home’s historic character.

The oak cabinetry, featuring in-frame beaded Shaker doors and brass reeded handles, is painted in Farrow & Ball’s ‘Blackened’, while the central island is finished in the deeper, striking shade of ‘Railings’. These tones contrast beautifully with the ‘Stiffkey Blue’ walls, creating a harmonious and sophisticated palette throughout the room. Veined quartz worktops and complementary splashbacks combine durability with subtle texture.

At the heart of the kitchen, the central island serves as a hub for cooking and socialising, complete with a Bora downdraft hob and thoughtfully planned storage. Wall cabinetry houses Siemens double ovens and fridges, while a built-in TV is discreetly flanked by custom wine racks hidden behind bi-fold doors, seamlessly integrating technology with storage.

This kitchen now serves as the centrepiece of the House of Berkeley, functioning as both a fully operational kitchen and a display space, with Roger warmly inviting clients to view a space that perfectly balances practicality with timeless design.
